How to Fix Streaming Issues on Hulu

With over 20 million American subscribers, Hulu is doubtlessly one of the most popular streaming services across the globe. Its subscribers can watch an array of TV shows and movies. Similar to Netflix and HBO, it also produces its own content. Users sometimes face streaming issues while using Hulu. In that case, here are the solutions that might work in resolving slow or no streaming problem.

Is Hulu down?

At times, the complete Hulu service crashes or needs to go through routine maintenance in the user’s region. Well, just check the status of the Hulu service from any online site detector. You can also check the social media pages of Hulu, to see if they have published anything regarding their service status. If the Hulu server is down, then you can do nothing but wait for it to come back up.

Reboot the device

Are you facing issues while streaming videos with Hulu on your TV, computer, or phone? Well, in that case, you should reboot the TV’s set-top box, the phone or the computer. If the issues do not get resolved, then just power off the home router for a bit and power it back on. Now, check if the streaming issue has been fixed or not.

Restart the app

Well, if the Hulu launches improperly, it might not be able to load all the data required for it to work appropriately. For this reason, you should restart the Hulu app, stream, or the web browser. After reloading or restarting the app or page, check if the issue still persists. If you are watching Hulu in a web browsing program, then you can just reload the window by pressing the curved arrow button located at the upper left corner of the screen.

Close background apps and other tabs

At times, when the device is overwhelmed with programs or web pages, the content may not stream properly. If a number of apps are opened in your phone, then they may be eating up a lot of space and data. Similarly, if a number of tabs are open, it could be the reason for slow streaming.

Ensure that the web browser, as well as the Hulu application, is updated. Sometimes, users may encounter slow streaming or lagging issues because of an outdated app. Just head to the app store and see if any updates for the Hulu app are available. Install the updates if available.

Delete cache

Just go to the Settings and visit the Hulu section. Click on the Clear Cache option.  Deleting the cache will help in eliminating all the obsolete files that may be conflicting with Hulu. If you are unable to delete the cache, then just remove the app and install it again. If you are streaming on your computer, then just delete the cache of the browser.

Change the streaming resolution

The higher the quality of the video is, the more bandwidth it will use. If you have a fast and stable internet connection, then you can play videos in HD. But, if your internet is slow, you should consider lowering the streaming resolution. Just tap or click on the gear button and select the lower streaming resolution.
